Lance Romance of the Hillbilly Hellcats

Lance started with the banjo playing bluegrass.  He met Chuck Hughes of the Hillbilly Hellcats in the early eighties for guitar lessons.  It wasn't long until he was playing rockabilly bass with Chuck 4 nights a week.

Lance has recorded a cassette and two CDs with the Hillbilly Hellcats.

He used a underwood pickup, a mic at the f-hole and a mic at the amp.

Lance plays with gut strings and prefers the sound of gut over steel.  "Gut strings just have that authentic tic."
