Yes, this thing really works: all of it, not a thing decorative about it. Strung with Thomastik Dominant Solo, amplified with K&K Rockabilly Pickup from Bob Gillhur (Exceptional for picking up the wheel and ratchets). I use minimal effects thru a Workingman's 15. My other temporarily dormant group yet dominant philosophy: Bullseal (www.bullseal.org), where I used an lovely aluminm number that is currently awaiting major repair. I'm often busking in my hometown of Pittsburgh (PA) with the help of a Crate Bass Bus or on my Oliv strung violin-corner Kay. Acoustic sessions are my preference, but I'm always prepared to beat the thing with a bodhran stick or a paint roller when I need to.
